Consists of over one thousand arbitration awards, primarily in the utilities, rubber, leather, transportation, retail food, steel, publishing, and construction industries. Also public employment awards for educational, postal, fire and police agencies.

Consists chiefly of working agreements, protective agreements, mediation agreements and legislative materials from the labor organization, Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees.

These records deal chiefly with the union during the presidential terms of office of A.F. Whitney (1928-1949), W.P. Kennedy (1949-1963), and Charles Luna (1963-1968).

Correspondence, reports, minutes, and related materials.

The bulk of the collection consists of arbitration case files, chiefly in the railroad industry, presented before other industries (most notably the airline industry) and unions (most notably the International Brotherhood of Teamsters), also data collected by Seidenberg for an injunction study of the New York courts, as well as proceedings, transcriprts, and exhibits of two Presidential Emergency Boards on which Seidenberg served.

Documents relating to the U.S. National War Labor Board and the U.S. Wage Stabilization Board, as well as general subject files.

This collection consists of NRLC circulars, which were sent to their member railroads, regarding the decisions and awards of Arbitration Board 282 in regards to the crew consist dispute.

This collection consists chiefly of claims cases brought before the Train Service Board of Adjustment for the Western Region; also present are letter press books containing certificates of examination and documentation of employee termination from the Northern Pacific facility in Staples, Minnesota, correspondence from the superintendent, and reports on cabooses.

These records represent the small surviving fraction of the union's total record production, the largest part of which was periodically disposed of throughout the history of the union.

Includes over 1000 arbitration and mediation awards, decisions, and related documents, primarily for cases in the following industries: steel, electronics, auto, transportation, meatpacking, manufacturing, and communications. Also include documents relating to two boards of the National Mediation Service which Seward chaired (Emergency Board Number 176 and Arbitration Board No. 282).
