WWII sexual humor postcards

 Collection — Manuscript box 86 - Folder 1: [Barcode: 31924070576537]
Identifier: 7887
Abstract

Seventeen illustrated postcards from a series depicting French and British soldiers propositioning or making out with French women, largely on farms and in villages but with a few urban scenes, as well. Each card includes a caption giving dialogue, often with sexual double-entendres, sexist comments, and mockery of types of female bodies suggested to be unattractive. Some of the scenes depict street prostitution, and many portray the young women in various states of undress.
