Anne Balay oral histories of gay, trans, and black truck drivers
Transcripts of oral histories with 62 of the 66 gay, transgender, and Black truck drivers in the United States whom Balay interviewed in 2015-2016 for a project she turned into the 2018 book Semi Queer: Inside the World of Gay, Trans, and Black Truck Drivers, UNC Press. Identifying information of the individual truck drivers has been deleted, and may be made available in 2049. Balay asigned pseudonyms.
California African American biker club photo album
A red photograph album containing 84 color and black and white prints of an African American motorcycle club and its members. Images include gatherings and outings, fellow club members on or near their bikes, scenes of camping trips, and street scenes. Accompanying the album is a navy blue club uniform, including shirt with gold tie and pants with belt, presumably worn by the club member who compiled the album.
