Item 8: Emory Johnson house, 1971
Scope and Contents
Gelatin silver print. Image depicts the home of Emory Johnson, who operated the Neptune Twine and Cord Mills, along with his son E. Emory Johnson, for 38 years between 1867 and 1905. The home was lived in by four generations of Johnsons, and was built in 1845. At the time of this photo, it was furnished in Victorian rococco style, including a Belter parlor suite and bed. Photo taken at Christmas 1971. Moodus is a village in the town of East Haddam, Conn. 20.5 x 25.25 cm.
