Scope and Contents

Gelatin silver print, [1971; original photo ca1875]. Image depicts the Neptune Mill, part of the Neptune Twine and Cord Mills in Moodus, Conn., about 1875. Building is three-story clapboard, with a bell tower in the front. Workers (?), both male and female, lined up outside the building; one peers out one of the tower windows. See item 4 in this folder for a photo of this same building in 1971. The mill burned in 1972. Moodus is a village in the town of East Haddam, Conn. 25.25 x 20.5 cm.
