It's important to maintain a very close watch where these conditions exist and to spot debris on the ground that might cause a derailment. The loading platform shown in the picture is used not only for railroad employees in this area, but also by other persons. It is the duty of the fireman and the engineer to make sure that all personnel, railroad and non-railroad, are out of the way before a car is moved.
