Paul Newman chasing Joe and other protestors off of the set of the film Fort Apache, The Bronx. This was Joe's first published photograph; it appeared in the New York Post, March 25 1980. The film set was located at Eagle Ave. and Westchester Ave. in the Bronx. Community activists were protesting the film's negative depiction of minorities and of the Bronx in general.

One shot of a vacant lot at Westchester Ave. and Brook Ave. was used as the cover image for the book Next Stop: Growing Up Wild Style by Ivan Sanchez (Touchstone, 2008).
