Charles A. Leale was the first physician to attend President Abraham Lincoln after Lincoln was shot at Ford's Theatre on April 14, 1865. This photograph shows the physician and his family at their home. Included are Dr. Leale, his wife Rebecca Medwin Copcutt Leale, and their children Annie, Lilian, Medwin, Marion, and Loyal.
