This collection is comprised of records and photographs documenting the institutional history of the Grand Lodge of the Ladies' Society of the Former Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen (BLF and E).

Includes pamphlets, correspondence, clippings and memorabilia relating to IWW strikes, legal cases and mob action against the IWW, and the activities of prominent IWW leaders, including William Haywood, Elizabeth Gurley Flynn, Joe Hill, and Ralph Chaplin.

This collection consists of the papers of James A. Paddock, former president of the Order of Railway Conductors and Brakemen, documenting the industry-wide effort to curb drug and alcohol abuse in railroad operating employees.

Consists of a manuscript notebook containing a poll of union members and union officials employed on the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad. The poll concerned the merger which created the United Transportation Union. Also included are miscellaneous materials from railroad companies.

Railroad Work Rules Dispute consists recordings of White House meetings and telephone conversations.

Thirteen employees of the Santa Fe Railroad and the railroad obtained an injunction restraining the unions from striking to secure a union shop contract. The collection consists of company documents as the case moved through various courts as listed below.

Records accumulated by the Western, Eastern and Southeastern Carriers Conference Committees, which served as the collective bargaining units for the member railroads in their jurisdictions prior to the establishment of the National Railway Labor Conference.

This collection consists of NRLC circulars, which were sent to their member railroads, regarding the decisions and awards of Arbitration Board 282 in regards to the crew consist dispute.

Selected microfilmed records accumulated by the Western, Eastern and Southeastern Carriers Conference Committees which served as the collective bargaining units for the member railroads in their jurisdictions prior to the establishment of the National Railway Labor Conference.

These records represent the small surviving fraction of the union's total record production, the largest part of which was periodically disposed of throughout the history of the union.
