Abstract

Henry Heimlich was a thoracic surgeon and graduate of Cornell University (Class of 1941) and Cornell University Medical College (Class of 1943). The Henry Heimlich, MD Papers contain documents, analog and digital photographs, audiovisual material, and memorabilia documenting his life, career, inventions, and procedures.

Scope and Contents

The Herbert Conway papers provides an excellent overview of Dr. Conway's career as a prominent plastic surgeon. However, there is very little about Dr. Conway as a person. The papers are divided up into five series: Correspondence (1928-1970), Financial Records (1953-1969), Trips (1947-1969), Speeches, Reprints, and Manuscripts (1926-1970), and Miscellaneous (1948-1968).

Scope and Contents This collection is very important for the information it contains on the project that was the first to study crash injury and also for the material on the man who gave the initial impetus to this research, Hugh DeHaven. The papers are, however, more informative regarding the research than they are regarding the man.
