Scope and Contents

During his tenure as a pharmacologist and cardiologist, Gold helped pioneer the field of digitalis studies. His research on digitalis and its compounds contributed to a more thorough understanding of the cardiac glycosides, of their benefits and their risks, and ultimately paved the way for better defined standards of production and use.
