Freed, Isidore, 1946-1950
Scope and Contents
Subseries 1B consists of correspondence files between Gold and the individual physicians and researchers employed in the Cardiac Clinics and Cardiovascular Research Unit at both Beth Israel Hospital and the Hospital for Joint Diseases. These files document the digitalis and diuretics studies conducted at both institutions and the way in which Gold operated each of his laboratories and clinics. The correspondence within this subseries also serves as an inventory of those who contributed to Gold’s work by staffing his cardiology clinics.
