 File — Box: 1, Folder: 56

Scope and Contents

From the Sub-Series:

Subseries 1A consists of Gold’s general correspondence and includes items of both personal and professional interest. Letters to and from hospital and university colleagues, as well as medical consultants, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and local and national organizations to which Gold belonged make up the bulk of this subseries. These files deal primarily with Gold’s research activities and highlight his involvement in the medical community. Along with his professional correspondence, letters and conversations of a more personal nature are also found within subseries 1A and include those between Gold and family members and friends. These address births and deaths, weddings, religious events, and social activities. Such conversations are often found alongside more professional matters; many of Gold’s colleagues became close friends.
