Scope and Contents

This series includes correspondence, papers, appointments, supply lists, and other files related to Heimlich’s involvement as a member of the United States Navy during World War II, as well as his status as a veteran after the war. The series also includes photographs of General Fu-Tso-Yi and undated slides of Heimlich in uniform standing with his sister, touring China, and on the United States Navy Hospital ship (“Repose”), among other wartime images.
