Biographical / Historical
Archie Rosenhouse was born on May 27, 1878 in a small town near Minsk, Russia. He came to the United States n 1904 and began working in New York City factories. One of the factories he worked in was the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory. He was fired from Triangle for taking an afternoon off without permission just a few months before the fire. In 1915 he received a degree in dentistry and had a practice in Chicago. Later, in 1924, he moved to Los Angeles, bought a drug store from his brother, and eventually became a pharmacist. He retired in 1952, at the age of seventy-four, and the next year began publishing the poetry he had been writing as a hobby.
