Scope and Contents
The North Billerica Company/Faulkner Mills Collection of Textile Industry Records includes information on costs, 1926-1945; purchases, 1914-1918; production, 1920; designs and drafts, 1903-1906; records of the company infirmary, 1950-1970, listing workers injured on the job and their treatment; and notebooks with information on wool shrinkage. Also contains proposals, 1917, from Wagner Electric Manufacturing Co., St. Louis, to furnish electric motors to Bridgewater Woolen Co. and North Billerica Co.; and payroll information, 1937.

Biographical / Historical
A woolen manufacturer in North Billerica, MA, founded in 1811 by Francis Faulkner and was known as Faulkner Mills. It was run by members of the Faulkner family until it was sold in 1914 to Daniel Farnsworth and reorganized as the North Billerica Co. (Faulkner Mills) which remained in operation until the 1980's. Farnsworth also owned the Bridgewater Woolen Co., Bridgewater, VT, and Farnsworth Mills in Central Village, CT.
