The Stirling Mills Records includes minutes of meetings of directors, 1879-1915; volume of stock certificates issued, 1880-1909; volume of transferred and cancelled stock certificates, 1880-1940; and a register of dividends paid to shareholders, 1880-1924.

Biographical / Historical
The company was a woolen mill in Lowell, MA. Organized in December, 1879, the directors were Ezra Farnsworth, Samuel B. Rindge, Edward D. Holden, and William H. Sherman. Ezra Farnsworth was also the company's first president. Parker, Wilder & Co., Boston, were appointed selling agents, and Edward Holden was company agent as well as one of the directors. Holden's grandson, Louis A. Olney became assistant treasurer in 1912 and later served as treasurer and president. The company closed in 1935.
