Biographical / Historical
The New England Textile Company of Pawtucket, RI was incorporated in 1920. The company was located at 260 Pine Street, in Pawtucket and produced narrow fabrics, mostly corset laces. In 1921, they had 300 braiders, and were using carded and combed yarn. When the company was incorporated, Harold E. Gavitt was secretary and treasurer, and in 1923 Philip L. Benoit became president of the company. The company appears to have lasted about nineteen years as the last entry for the company appears in the 1939 edition of Davison's Textile Blue Book.
