Scope and Contents

The Faulkner Mills Records includes the agreement to form a corporation, 1897; a trial balance, 1897 and statement of assets, 1898; a stock certificate, 1897, for company shares owned by John A. Faulkner; and a document giving Luther Faulkner's attorney power to vote for him at a stockholders' meeting, 1899. Also includes a sample of wool and a cloth sample (swatch). Contains a legal decree: Wamesit Power Co. v. Stirling Mills; Luther W. Faulkner v. Wamesit Power Co., in which Faulkner seeks to force Wamesit to enlarge a canal supplying water to the mill; power for the mill was created by a dam on the Concord River in Lowell.
