Scope and Contents

The E. H. Tryon, Inc. Records includes copies of outgoing correspondence, 1926; a report, 1926, of the secretary-treasurer of the San Francisco Wool Trade Association.; and a document outlining the history and organization of the Association and of the sheep and wool business in California. Also includes an appraisal report, 1940, done by the American Appraisal Co. for E.H. Tryon, giving cost of reproduction less depreciation of buildings and machinery, with a detailed inventory.

Biographical / Historical

The company, established in 1887, was a wool dealer located in San Francisco with a scouring plant in Stockton, CA. In 1959, the company merged with another local dealer to form Haber Zemel Tryon, Inc. This firm was liquidated in 1989.
