Scope and Contents
A. Lee Company Records includes a letter, July 12, 1889, from Bulmer, Crouchley & Co., indigo merchants, drysalters and aniline dye manufacturers in Leeds [England], enclosing a process for blue and red soluble indigo or indigotine. Also contains a contract with Erich Korndorfer, a chemist and dyer from Chemnitz, Germany and Ernst Junginger, a merchant from Wiesbaden, giving the company rights to manufacture and sell their carbid-oils in the U.S.; provisional and complete specifications, 1905, of Korndorfer's process for oiling cotton and other vegetable fibers to soften and improve the appearance of dyed material and a process for manufacture of emulsifying mineral oils and mineral oil soaps; and a transfer of patents, 1906, of these processes from Korndorfer to A. Lee Company
