Scope and Contents
Gelatin silver print snapshot. Image depicts a Knowles Loom Works dobby loom in Lancashire, England, with a 4 by 1 shuttle box and 30" reed space. Patents dated 1886 and 1887. Maker's name is clearly painted, which would place the manufacture of this loom between 1887 and 1897, when the Crompton Loom Works and the Knowles Loom Works merged into Crompton & Knowles Loom Works. 10 x 15.25 cm.
