Scope and Contents

Gelatin silver print snapshot, March 20, 1936. Image depicts a flood street scene, most probably in Andover, Mass. (Shawsheen Village?) during the flood of 1936. Water has reached the bottom step of the front door steps at each house, but the man standing in water in the center ground is almost up to his knees. Several other men stand on the steps at two different houses; two children play in the water's edge in the right background. 12 x 9.5 cm.
