Item 896: Scrap iron pile, Draper Company, May 12, 1911, 1911
Scope and Contents
Printed in 1974 from glass plate negative no.B896. May 12, 1911. Image depicts a view of the scrap iron pile outside one of the Draper Company buildings. One man stands in front of the pile, which gives the viewer a sense of the size of it (at least three stories high); two others can be glimpsed at the far right end of the pile. See also Item 883, in this folder, which shows the pile a month earlier. See Item 897 and Item 898, in this folder, for other views of this man in front of the scrap pile taken on this date. See Box 15, Folder 3, Item 934, Item 935, and Item 937 for views of the scrap pile taken a month after this one. The Draper Company manufactured textile machinery, which explains the extent of the scrap iron pile. 25.25 x 20.25 cm.
