Printed in 1974 from glass plate negative no.A1219. August 1925. Image shows a line of male runners at the beginning of the 1/2-mile race. All are dressed in white shorts and singlets except for one man who wears a dark singlet. Spectators are lined up on the left; a flagpole and house can be seen in the background.
