Item 158: Houses on Bancroft Parkway

 File — Box: 2, Folder: 2

Scope and Contents

Printed in 1974 from glass plate negative no.A158. 1901-1916. Image depicts three houses in a row on the right-hand side of Bancroft Parkway in Hopedale, Massachusetts All are substantial wood-shingled houses and all are most likely two-family residences, as Draper Company housing in Hopedale was rarely larger than duplexes. The house on the far right is only partially visible; the house to the left of that somewhat follows the gambrel style but with a more slanted roof. Its entrance appears to be on the side of the house. The house in the center left background is quite large, and has three chimneys. The house on the left is only partially visible. The street is unpaved, but the left side of the street has a sidewalk. These houses were built for Draper Company employees. 25 x 20.25 cm.
