Scope and Contents
Black-and-white image depicts dressing machines starching linen. Starching is a finishing process in which the fabric is treated with a solution consisting mainly of starch together with other ingredients such as softeners, etc. Starching is usually done in a mangle, which commonly consists of several rolls of differeent types and an open vat for holding water or some solution.
