Behind the men, across the waterway, is a 5-story mill building with a pile of lumber on the right. On the left of the mill buiding are other smaller buildings. In the background a bridge and falls can be seen. On the left side of the waterway are two smaller wooden buildings. Handwritten note on reverse says "Pawtucket, 1870-1880."
