Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

Collection consists of a 3-ring binder regarding the 1992 campaign to decertify the union at International Paper's Androscoggin Mill in Jay, Maine. The materials have been removed from the binder and placed in acid-free folders. One folder was used for each section of the binder, thus maintaining the original order. The first section consists of loose notes and papers found in the front of the binder. The second section contains copies of the Androscoggin Mill company newsletter about the campaign. This is followed by photocopies of newspaper articles, mostly from local papers. Also included are photocopies of leaflets and broadsides put out by both the International Paper Company and the United Paperworkers International Union, and newspaper clippings.

A business card from Mr. Bradley L. Peters, Manager of Communications for the Androscoggin Mill, was inserted in the front of the binder. It is likely that Mr. Peters assembled the notebook.
