Legislation: 1961 National Transportation Policy, Interagency Group [folder 2 of 2], 1965

This series consists of the Office Files of the RLEA for the year 1965. They are arranged into seven record groups: Government, Legislation, Judicial, RLEA, Railroads, Other Organizations, International Affairs, and Commuter Problems.

Of note in this series are the files on the Bank Holding Company Act, which substantively changed the laws with regard to mergers and acquisitions among corporate entities. Also of note are the studies of the problems on the New Haven Line along the Northeast Corridor.

This series is also the first to contain numerous files that were never used by the RLEA, a trend that would continue as the railroad industry and its labor organizations began to wane in importance and size.
