Scope and Contents
Federal investigation of transportation prompted ICRR to document the number of African-Americans they employed and what workplace discrimination they faced. Also found in this folder is a memorandum, attached to a letter dated May 9, 1934, recording a narrative of the shootings of African-American employees (see also box 8, folders 23A-29 for additional documentation of these events).
