Nearly all of the activity of Local 300 was devoted to the organizing drive in the menhaden fishing industry during this summer. There are legal papers relating to disputes between the union and the Louisiana Menhaden Co. (July 29; Sept 23) and the Fish Meal and Oil Co. and Quinn Menhaden Fisheries, Inc. (Sept. 11, 27).
