Here the track curvatures and hump leads going down and around to the left of the picture which is toward the south here are more clearly shown. Also shows the maze of switches that join here and the cross-overs through the area. These conditions exist generally throughout the yard and accidents caused by derailments and sideswipes have been frequent in Yard 9. Switchman to the right of the picture is giving a signal to the road train that is hidden by the cars in the photograph.
