Konvitz agrees to participate in a dialogue on Jewishness and the creative process as part of the April 1976 Bicentennial National Biennial Convention of the American Jewish Congress. Konvitz was a member of the Governing Council of the American Jewish Congress (April 2, 1974). Konvitz nominated Hertzberg to become a member of the Cornell Board of Trustees (February 20, 1974).
