ORGANIZATIONAL HISTORY
The Empire State Forest Products Association was formed by lumbermen and paper companies in 1906 "to promote the interests of its members and to protect, perpetuate, and increase the forest growth of the State through the establishment of a rational and constructive system of forestry." The group continued as an advocacy organization dedicated to the practice of forestry and the production of forest products on privately-owned land in New York State.
