BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Professor emeritus of Policy Analysis and Management in the College of Human Ecology, Cornell University.

Scott Maynes attended Springfield College in 1940, entered the U.S. Army Air Force in January 1943, and was discharged in December 1945. He received a B.S. in Social Sciences from Springfield College in 1947, an M.A. in Economics from Wesleyan University in 1949 and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Michigan in 1956. His career spanned 18 years in Economics at the University of Minnesota and from 1975-1992 he taught consumer economics at Cornell.
