COLLECTION DESCRIPTION

Collection consists of correspondence between 19th and early 20th century French composers, librettists and musicians (including Fromental Halévy, Jean-François Le Sueur, Jules Massenet, Eugène Scribe, Florent Schmitt, and others). Many of the letters are addressed to musicologist Georges Servières (1858 - 1937). Also includes music manuscripts, programs, engravings, and clippings.
