BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
Daniel S. Greenberg (May 9, 1931 – March 9, 2020), science journalist and author, graduated from Columbia University in 1953. In 1961, he became the first editor of the "News and Comment " section of the journal Science. He also worked as a science reporter for the Washington Post. In 1971 he founded the Science and Government Report, a fortnightly review of government grants, reports, and activities in science. He served as its editor until 1997, when it was acquired by John Wiley & Sons. He also authored several books on the politics of science in the United States, including The Politics of Pure Science (1967), Science, Money and Politics (2001), Science for Sale (2007), and Tech Transfer (2010).
