BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
Samuel Fatzinger was born near Allentown, Pennsylvania on December 19, 1801, the son of Jacob and Catherine Fatzinger, a brother of Thomas, Levi and Edward Fatzinger and Elisha Fatzinger Watkins. With his family he moved in 1818 to the present town of Varick. Not long after Samuel went to South Waterloo, New York where he engaged in mercantile pursuits. He was one of three trustees who supervised the construction of a new school in Fayette in 1845. In 1844 he had been elected town supervisor of Fayette. Fatzinger died in Ypsilanti, Michigan on December 9, 1858.
