This collection contains eight transcribed items arranged in chronological order including: two sets of church meeting minutes, 1818-1846, 1847-1873; one set of covenant meeting minutes, 1873-1898; and five membership lists, 1826-1849, 1849-1880, 1861-1898, 1874-1888, and 1895. (This collection is a microfilm copy of typed transcripts located in the Seneca County Courthouse filed under "miscellaneous historical record."

ORGANIZATIONAL HISTORY

The First Baptist Church of Romulus was established in 1795 with seven members. The first church was established in 1808 and was rebuilt in 1849. The church joined the Chemung Association in 1796 but left it in 1804 to join the Cayuga Association only to leave again in 1820 when they helped establish the Seneca Association.
