BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
City planner. Oliver C. Winston held a B.A. and B.S. in architecture from The Rice Institute. He worked for the Housing Division of the Public Works Administration in Washington from 1934 to 1938; was Regional Director of the United States Housing Authority in Washington, 1939-1947; was Executive Director of the Housing Authority of Baltimore City, Urban Renewal Coordinator for Baltimore City, and Director of Baltimore Urban Renewal and Housing Agency. He later served in planning positions in Binghamton, New York and at the Office of Regional Resources and Development at Cornell University. Winston died on April 25, 1992 at the age of 86.

Consists chiefly of studies for urban renewal projects in various central New York communities and publications on planning by various institutions and individuals associated with Cornell. Includes lecture materials, student papers and correspondence.
