Copies of House resolutions and bills introduced by Gould, many of which pertain to the military establishment, the welfare of members of the armed forces, and American participation in World War I; also, his statement as to why he voted against the Soldiers' Bonus Bill of 1922 and letters commending him for his stand; copies of speeches, press releases, and circulars concerning the war effort, his campaigns for reelection on the Republican ticket, rural mail deliveries, and other matters; also, clippings, photographs, and miscellaneous items relating to his political career, the Gould and Judd families, or to Goulds Pumps, Inc. of Seneca Falls, New York.

BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
Norman J. Gould (March 15, 1877-August 20, 1964) was born in Seneca Falls, New York, the oldest of five children of Seabury S. Gould and Mary Mitchell (Judd) Gould. He is the grandson of the late Norman B. Judd, who nominated Lincoln as a candidate for President in 1860. He was married in 1921 to Anna Benrath of Philadelphia. Gould attended the schools of Seneca Falls, New York, Lawrenceville, New Jersey, Preparatory School, graduating in 1895, and Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, graduating as a Mechanical Engineer in 1899. At Cornell he was President of his Class for one year, member of the Masque, of Sigma Phi, and of Quill and Dagger, and Assistant Manager and Manager of the Cornell Crew in 1899. On graduation from Cornell he became associated with the Goulds Manufacturing Company, (later named Goulds Pumps, Inc.) in October, 1899, and has been associated with that company to date. From November 2, 1915 – March 3, 1923 he served as a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives, representing New York's 36th district
