COLLECTION DESCRIPTION
Letters from Babcock to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard E. Babcock of Ithaca, New York, and other members of his family, concerning his school days at Phillips Exeter Academy and his experiences with the U.S. Army in the European theatre during World War II. Also included are letters (1944-1946) to the Babcock family from John Thomas Conner (Cornell University Class of 1944) describing his basic training and Army technical school studies and his tour of active duty in Assam, India. Also the publication "Kernels, Screenings and some Chaff: Growing Up with Northeastern Farming in the 1930's", John Babcock's growing up at Sunny Gables.
