Biographical / Historical
Based at Atlantic's New York City office, Kavitha Mediratta served as Chief Strategy Advisor for Equity Initiatives and Human Capital Development from 2015 to 2016. In this role she lead Atlantic's iniaitive of ending the school-to-prison pipeline. Prior to this position, Mediratta served as Head of Atlantic's Racial Equity Programs beginning in 2014.After her tenure at the Atlantic Philanthropies, Mediratta began her position as Executive Director of the Atlantic Fellows for Racial Equity in 2017. In addition to her work with Atlantic and the Atlantic Fellows, Mediratta was a key foundation advisor to President Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper initiative and a senior consultant to the NYC Mayor’s Office for Criminal Justice to guide government and non-profit leaders’ efforts to improve school climate and discipline in the City’s public schools.
