COLLECTION DESCRIPTION
The collection documents the technological aspects of the contested presidential vote in 2000, with special emphasis on the Florida recount. It includes documents, interviews, news clippings, articles, books, audio and video recordings, and artifacts donated by major government and research institutions, as well as media sources that played a significant role in the reporting of the election. Among the artifacts is a Palm Beach voting machine, used in the 2000 election, complete with the infamous butterfly ballot and hanging chads. The collection also includes a series pertaining to e-voting and the 2004 election.
