Hearns Liquor, `
File — Box: 59, Folder: 7
Scope and Contents
This document is really several stapled together. There are multiple wine lists, and two letters to customers. The first, from November 14th, 1940, tells us that Hearns has been able to gather together a great quantity of French wine, which is now impossible due to the war. Apparently, "this is probably the most outstanding achievement in the history of 'America's Largest Liquor Store.'" The next letter, from 1942, describes its liquor as "safe from the ruthless hands of the invaders."
