Physical Description: 2 leaves; 27 cm;holograph. Accompanied by a descriptive note allegedly by Leon de Chazelles ([1] p. on 2 leaves), and a photograph of the manuscripts ([4] pg. on 4 leaves). Summary: Draft of Lavoisier's refusal of the post of "Ministre des contributions publiques;" final version published in Grimaux, p. 215. Letter begins: "Sire/ Ce n'est ni par Crainte / pusillanime don’t je Suis incapable / ni par indifference pour la chose / publique…"
