O: Bust of Lafayette facing right in a redingote (or double-breasted coat). Legend around the edge : Général Lafayette, né à Chavaniac le 6 S[eptem]bre 1757. R: the frigate "Brandywine" that carried Lafayette back to France in September 1825. The medal was struck in Le Havre, where Lafayette arrived on October 4. White.
