Scope and Contents
This series contains audio and video tapes of interviews and conversations with various artists. Transcripts and notes are sometimes provided. It also contains ETC's telephone logs (31 spiral notebooks with telephone messages from various artists).
The material in Box 106-A, Experimental Television Center with the Vasulkas, Interviews by Jon Burris was created with a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. The research project concerns the design and creation of electronic moving-image instruments by independent artists and engineers, and the place of this work within the context of video art history. The researchers include Woody Vasulka, Steina Vasulka, Ralph Hockings, Sherry Miller Hocking, and Jon Burris.
