Mock-ups and handwritten notes for a sign noting that The Box “was created to provide a safe and healthy environment for the gay community and their friends” and is not the place for “curious eyes or angry hands.” The sign was posted near the entrance after an SF Chronicle article on the club led to more straight clients.
